Promoting ecological and social standards throughout the entire supply chain is, for us, a key requirement for a more sustainable and future-oriented fashion industry. That’s why all products sold by us must meet minimum requirements and standards.
For our exclusive brands**, we are able to ensure high standards ourselves. That’s why our subsidiary, International Brands Company (IB Company GmbH & Co. KG), which is responsible for our exclusive brands, has been certified for several textile standards, including the Organic Content Standard, Recycled Claim Standard, and Responsible Wool Standard.
When it comes to external brands, we work closely with our partners and define clear guidelines for responsible production and certified materials in our supplier policies, known as our supplier manuals.
In our sustainability certificate standard, we define which third-party sustainability certifications we recognize. Our focus is on responsible materials that are sourced and produced in a resource-efficient way, production methods with higher environmental and social standards, and the use of recycled fibers. A product must consist of at least 30% materials that meet these standards. We differentiate between licensed materials (such as Tencel and Lenzing) and certified materials. The sustainability certificate standard is reviewed annually for quality, relevance, and traceability.
Since 2023, we have offered collections under our exclusive brand Jake*s Studio that consist exclusively of products certified with third-party sustainability labels.
**P&C exclusive brands refer to the private labels Christian Berg, McNeal, Jake*s, and Review of the Peek & Cloppenburg (Düsseldorf) group, which are sold exclusively at P&C.
